2003 and, believe it or not, our first trip through the Channel Tunnel! We're less than an hour from Waterloo (London) so, on the train all the way to within a twenty minute walk of our Hotel (Bedford) in the centre of Brussels. Lovely City and nice, friendly people. Plenty of sites to see (all within a good walk) and a trip to Waterloo (Belgium) must not be missed.

Waterloo

Present day Waterloo has not been drowned in a sea of building and the names of places read about in History books come alive when travelling around there. One day is NOT enough, would love to go back and spend a long weekend in Waterloo itself. The Waterloo tour also included a visit to Gaasbeek Castle, now a Museum and well worth the visit.

Did, of course, do a guided tour of the City but, as is (sometimes) usual, we didn't take a note of what we were looking at! A few shots follow:
