1989 (Mini Cruise from Cyprus). What an experience. A very early start from the ship and a long coach journey (200km) but well worth it. The Pyramids and the Sphinx are a sight to behold but we were both surprised how close they were to the City. We expected them to be out in the middle of the desert. Cairo itself was rather dirty and the traffic was horrendous but we visited the Museum and a Papyrus Factory (not uninteresting). A long day but not to be missed.
