Saga Pearl II in Sao Vicente
We had two stops in Cape
Verde on the 2017 Pearl Cruise, Mindelo (Sao Vicente)and Praia (Santiago).
The blurb on the tours supplied by Saga stated that, if you suffer from
vertigo (me) or motion sickness (Edna) then consider this before booking.
We decided against it and just went on the shuttle buses into the Towns.
To be honest it was too hot for us (we don't "do" the heat
so well nowadays) although I'm sure for sun worshippers it would be
          a perfect destination.
        Mindelo had a very pleasant
bay but the pedestrian areas were very uneven and, at our time of life,
this is an important thing. We did, however, have a nice walk around
and saw the mini copy of the Belem Tower

Belem Tower (a copy of the one in
          Lisbon)
        the Church

        and the President's Palace
(not easy to get a decent photo because of the traffic)

as well as the Eagle Monument

        and Diogo Alonso Monument.

Diogo Alonso, a 15th. Century Portuguese
          explorer who discovered Sao Vicente
Praia seemed even hotter so, after a walk around
          a rather pleasant square

and a look at the Republic Palace

          Diogo Gomes, a Portuguese explorer
who discovered some of the Cape Verde Islands
we got the shuttle bus back to the ship.
