We only visited Santa Cruz on the 2000/2001 Christmas in the Canaries and the 2006 Canaries Carousel cruises but what a lovely place it looked! As you can see from the photo (taken in 2000) the background is splendid (as is the foreground but I would say that, wouldn't I!) and the Town itself is well worth a visit. A full size (I think) replica of the Santa Maria, a Castle (not old, but attractive), a lovely Church and so quiet. I don't think you can fly direct from the UK which keeps away the hordes but well worth checking out if you want warm winter sun without the lager louts.
