| Herbert
Sutcliffe (1894-1978)
One of England's best ever batsmen (what wouldn't we give for his like
now?).
Yorkshire through and through and always dapper at the crease. Beaten
by a ball, no problem, play each ball
on it's merits. Born in Pudsey (as was Len Hutton and, presumably, Pudsey
Bear!).

First edition cover of Herbert Sutcliffe's autobiography. (Bought at
a boot sale, the seller knew it was a first edition but it cost less
than I thought it would).
