Don't! If there's one pop star that I miss it's Billy. In the early '60s (my teenage years) I thought he was wonderful (still do!). A great rocker but also a great balladeer. Went to one of the "get togethers" on the anniversary of his death at Mill Hill Cemetery. Nicely done and Billy's mum served the tea afterwards!

Saw him on 24th. March 1962 at Slough Adelphi (thankyou bradfordtimeline.co.uk for confirming when it was). I bought tickets for myself and my girlfriend but, we had a bust up (we had many!). Took the daughter of my boss at the time (can't even remember her name!). I do remember that she said that, when Billy was on, I was entranced. I can believe it! Also appearing were Eden Kane (second to top on the bill but I don't remember seeing him). Having said that, saw him in later years and he was great (and have him in my cd collection). The Karl Denver trio (don't remember them but I have Karl Denver in my cd collection). Shane Fentone & the Fentones (DO remember seeing them and saw Alvin Stardust in later years, great and sadly missed, have him in my cd collection). Peter Jay & the Jaywalkers, remember them and saw them several times. A great backing group as well as a top act in their own right. Have them in my cd collection! Also, Joe Brown & the Bruvvers. Started another fandom affair! He was sensational. Have seen him MANY times since and am still a member of his fan club (you may think that's sad, this old geezer doesn't!). Others appearing, Jackie Lynton, Ricky Stevens & Don Munday.

What happened to my girlfriend (Marian) who I had a bust up with? We got engaged on the 26th. June 1962 (I always remember that because it was 26.6.62) but, after several more "bust ups" we parted. We, sort of, kept in touch but, sadly, she died a few years ago (after marrying another chap).
