2004 Saga Rose.

What a terrific City! Went on an organised tour which started with a 2 hour walk around the Old Town. The Church of St. Lucy is incredible, it's built around a much older Church and you can clearly see the original base. Onto a wonderful Greek amphitheatre and some great Roman sites. As with most places visited on Cruises, need more time!

Greek Amphitheatre - the largest outside of Greece

Roman Site and the Ear of Dionysius (a cave named by Michelangelo - you can see why)

Fountain of Diana (and the not unimpressive Bank of Sicily building!)

2023 Spirit of Adventure

Off the ship quite early and took a trip on the little road train (I love them). Only €5 and Saga had an organised trip on this train for £19!

A good look around parts of the City, sat right behind the driver who pointed things out to help with the commentary. Back for lunch and walked out in the afternoon (docked right near the City) to the Fountain of Diana (again). There was a couple dancing in the square with quite a large gathering. Not really my thing but they were pretty good. Leisurely stroll by the Cathedral and back to the ship.
